A Cedar Rapids man has been arrested by Dubuque Police after he attempted to set up a sexual meeting with what he believed to be an underage girl.
Police say in October, 25-year old Taras Butrie communicated with an undercover officer on a social media site who was posing as a 14-year old girl.
Police say Butrie made extremely suggestive comments and sent sexual pictures during the online conversations and wanted to set up a meeting.
Authorities say he used a fake name on social media and used an email address registered under a phony name, however communication continued and Butrie was able to be fully identified at the end of January and was arrested this week. He is currently in the Dubuque County Jail.
