Jo Daviess County authorities have identified the teenager who drowned in a swimming pool at Galena’s Chestnut Mountain Resort.
The Sherriff’s Department says 17-year old Jack Zucco from Rochester, Illinois apparently lost consciousness in the pool Friday night and was pulled from the water before first responders arrived. Authorities said despite life-saving efforts, Zucco was pronounced dead.
The incident remains under investigation. Officials say there is no evidence of criminal activity.
