Hundreds of concerned southwest Wisconsin residents are expected to attend an informational meeting today about a proposed data center considering a location in the Cassville area.
Data Centers in the Driftless: A Community Conversation meeting will be held at two o’clock today at the Holiday Gardens Event Center in Potosi.
Data center projects across Wisconsin and in other parts of the country have sparked concerns over their high energy consumption.
A special meeting of the Cassville Town Board is scheduled this Thursday, evening. The Telegraph Herald reports board members will potentially take the first steps in the process of becoming a zoned township, which would give them rather than the county some say over a potential data center.
