  • #9 Nebraska 84, Iowa 75

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — No. 9 Nebraska has matched its program record for wins in a season with 26. The Cornhuskers beat Iowa 84-75 in overtime on Sunday. Cale Jacobsen came off the bench to score 13 of his 15 points after halftime and hit the tiebreaking 3-pointer in OT. Kael Combs and Cooper Koch had 18 points apiece for Iowa.

 

  • #11 Illinois 78, Maryland 72

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — David Mirkovic had 22 points and 11 rebounds as No. 11 Illinois held off Maryland 78-72. The win gives Illinois a bye into Friday’s quarterfinals in the Big Ten Tournament.

 

  • Iowa is the No. 9 seed in the Big Ten Tournament and play Oregon or Maryland on Wednesday morning.
  • Wisconsin drew the 5th seed and will play Thursday afternoon against either USC or Washington.
  • Illinois is the four seed getting a double bye until Friday and will face the winner of the game between Wisconsin, USC, or Washington.

 

UNI earns automatic berth to NCAA Tournament Bid

The UNI men’s basketball team captured the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Tournament championship (“Arch Madness”) and an automatic NCAA Tournament bid with an 84-69 win over the fifth-seeded UIC Flames at Enterprise Center.

The Panthers, the lowest-seeded team to ever win Arch Madness at six become the first team in the 50-year history of the conference tournament to win four games in four days after starting play during the opening day of the event.

 

Iowa State 5 seed in Big 12 Tournament

The Iowa State Cyclones are the number five seed for this weeks Big 12 conference tournament in Kansas City.

The Cyclones will meet the winner of Tuesday first round game between Arizona State and Baylor on Wednesday morning at 11:30. The winner meets #4 seed Texas Tech in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

 

Women’s Basketball

  • #2 UCLA 96, #9 Iowa 45 (Big 10 Tournament Final)

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Gianna Kneepkens scored 19 points and Kiki Rice added 15 points and eight assists as No. 2 UCLA rolled past No. 9 Iowa 96-45 to win its second straight Big Ten Tournament crown.

The Bruins also extended their school-record win streak to 25 games and their Big Ten win streak to 24. Ava Heiden scored 15 points for the Hawkeyes.

Wrestling

Iowa Finishes 4th at Big Ten Championships

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The University of Iowa men’s wrestling team finished fourth at the 2026 Big Ten Championships at the Bryce Jordan Center. Seven Hawkeyes finished on the podium, and Iowa qualified nine of 10 weights for the NCAA Championships in Cleveland.

The Hawkeyes have sent at least nine wrestlers to the national tournament for 14 straight years and 18 times since 2007, Tom Brands’ first year as head coach.
