Blizzard Warning for Sunday Night and Monday

news-winter1

A significant winter storm is expected to bring accumulating snow, strong winds, and blizzard conditions to the area Sunday evening through the day on Monday.

The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning for the Dubuque area and most of the state of Iowa. Winter Storm Warnings have been issued in Southwest Wisconsin with the northern half of the state also under a Blizzard Warning.

Forecasters say rain Sunday afternoon will begin changing over to snow and perhaps some freezing rain around 5 o’clock before turning to all snow after 7 o’clock.

Forecasters are predicting generally 4 to 8 inches of snowfall with perhaps more in some areas combined with winds which could gust as high as 60 miles per hour creating nearly impossible travel conditions.

Some area communities have declared Snow Emergency’s in advance of the storm.
