March Madness will hit high gear later this week with the NCAA men’s and women’s basketball tournaments later this week.
Iowa, Iowa State, Northern Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois are all dancing in the men’s tournament.
- Iowa drew a No. 9 seed (No. 36 overall) and will face eighth-seeded Clemson (24-10) on Friday in Tampa, Florida, in the South Region.
- Iowa State earned a No. 2 seed in the Midwest Region and will face No. 15 seed Tennessee State (23-9, 15-5 OVC) on Friday in St. Louis.
- After winning the Missouri Valley Tournament, Northern Iowa was given a 12 seed and will meet 5th seed Saint John in San Diego on Friday.
- Wisconsin received the No. 5 seed in the West Region and will face 12-seeded High Point on Thursday in Portland.
- Illinois is the No. 3 seed in the South region. The Fighting Illini open play in Greenville, S.C, taking on No. 14 seed Penn.
In the NCAA Women’s Tournament Iowa, Iowa State, and Illinois all received Big Dance Tickets
- Iowa earned a 2-seed and will host 15-seed Fairleigh Dickinson University on Saturday in Iowa City.
- ISU drew a number 8 seed and will play Syracuse (23-8, 12-6 ACC) Saturday, March 21 in Storrs, Conn
- #7 seed Illinois will face [10] Colorado (22-11) on Saturday in Nashville.
- Wisconsin landed a bid to the WNIT Tourney, the Badgers will travel to Oregon State for a Thursday first round game.
