A southwest Wisconsin man accused in the October 2024 death of a Prairie du Chien man has pled no contest to the
charges and is scheduled to be sentenced later this year.
40-year old Jessie Slaughter of Lancaster recently entered the plea to a reduced charge of first degree reckless homicide in the death of Daniel Welch who was found strangled and stabbed inside his apartment. Slaughter was arrested the next day at a Platteville residence.
Slaughter is now scheduled to be sentenced May 6th in Crawford County Court.
