A former Dubuque County Supervisor wants his old job back. Republican Daryl Klein has filed papers with the Dubuque County Elections Office to run for a seat run for a seat on the board again. Klein is seeking a third term after serving two previous terms from 2010 to 2018.
Another candidate filing to be on the ballot yesterday is Democrat Kristin Dietzel.
Two other Republicans also will be on the primary ballot: Incumbent Supervisor Wayne Kenniker and Jason Davis.
Voters will choose two supervisors from the field of candidates in November after each party narrows its candidates to two nominees in the June 2 primary election.
The current Dubuque County Treasurer’s Michael Clausen also filed his papers to run for re-election. Clausen of Dyersville has served as the county treasurer since 2022.
