The north runway at the Dubuque Regional Airport will be closing down this week for construction. Work on new taxiway to serve the general aviation hangars will begin on Monday and is expected to be finished in sometime in August. The north runway will be closed to all flights.
This is the third year of construction for a modern taxiway for general aviation.
The six year, $6-point-2 million dollar project is being funded primarily through a Federal Aviation Administration grant.
The west runway will not be affected by this year’s construction projects.
