A Dubuque man who pled guilty to multiple counts of possessing and distributing child pornography has been sentenced.
29-year old Evan Schmitt was ordered serve 15 years in jail on three of the counts against him. Several other counts were dismissed as part of his plea agreement.
Schmitt was arrested this past June and was charged with using a messaging app to send porn materials in June and July of 2024. The materials were flagged by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
