We are finding out a location in Dubuque County hit hard by yesterday’s storm was Camp Albrect Acres near Sherrill.
On their social media pages, camp leaders say all campers are safe, but the camp sustained lots of damage with downed trees falling on some of the buildings and they are still without power and internet service.
In their message they say they will be canceling camp for the remainder of this week as we assess the damage and determine the next steps. They are currently contacting campers’ families to let them know.
They also say they will be organizing a volunteer clean-up of the camp.
