A weekend U.T.V crash in southwest Wisconsin turned deadly.
The Layfayette County Sheriff says Saturday afternoon around 5:30 they were called to a section of the Pecatonica Trail in the town of Kendall on the report of the crash.
Authorities say the UTV operated by 50-year old Keith Konczak of Utica, Illinois went out of control left the trail and overturned into the river near a bridge. A passenger in the vehicle 55-year old Wendy Baele of Kewanee, Illinois was pronounced dead. Konczak was taken by ambulance to Southwest Health in Platteville, was treated and released.
The Sheriff says alcohol, speed and careless operation appear to be contributing factors to the crash. The investigation is being turned over to the County Attorney for possible charges to be filed.
