A man arrested last week in connection with a Dubuque assault and shooting now faces a charge of attempted murder.
19 year old Domani D. Stephenson of Sherrill was arrested on the charges of unauthorized possession of an offensive weapon for his alleged part in the May 4th assault and shooting of 29 year old Excell Moore IV of Dubuque. Court documents say he has now been charged with attempted murder and willful injury-causing bodily injury in Iowa District Court of Dubuque County. The incident occurred around 3:45 on the afternoon of May 4th. Officers were sent to the 400 block of Rhomberg and found out a man who was shot had been taken by private vehicle to Finley Hospital for treatment of gunshots to a hand and leg. Witnesses told police Moore was attacked by a group of four men who had got out of a vehicle. A review of traffic camera footage showed Moore walking in the area of Jackson and East 20th streets when he was confronted by Stephenson, Harris and two other occupants of a vehicle.
