Careless use of fireworks is being blamed for causing a grass fire near East Dubuque.
Shortly before five o’clock yesterday afternoon, fire crews from East Dubuque and Menominee-Dunleith Fire Departments were called to control the small fire behind a residence on Ridge Drive in East Dubuque.
Officials say the blaze was extinguished shortly after arrival and they stayed for about a half hour.
