Fishing Disagreement Causes Man To Display A Gun

Grant Co Sheriff

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office says an argument over a fishing spot caused a man to allegedly display a gun and he was arrested. The incident happened Tuesday morning around 8:15 at O’Leary’s Lake off of Eagle Point Road.

When officers arrived they learned the two people were fishing near each other and their lines became tangled which started an argument.

Authorities say during the disagreement, 28-year old Payton Walker of Dubuque pulled out the gun, they say while Walker did not point the weapon at the other fisherman, he was taken to the Grant County Jail on charges of disorderly conduct. There were no injuries.
