A Dodgeville, Wisconsin man is in jail in Nebraska being held as a suspect on homicide charges in the death of a Dodgeville woman whose body was found in her vehicle which the suspect was driving.
The Iowa County Sheriff and Dodgeville Police say the man in custody is 23-year old Gavin Thompson who was spotted by a Nebraska State Trooper early Wednesday morning driving the vehicle near Lincoln, Nebraska. The trooper gave chase, and the vehicle crashed, Thompson reportedly ran away, but was captured a short time later and taken to jail. The body of the woman found in the vehicle, has been identified as 67-year-old Dorinda Segebrecht. A Missing Endangered Person Alert had been issued for Segebrecht on Tuesday by Wisconsin authorities.
Thompson faces numerous charges including First Degree Intentional Homicide, Burglary While Armed with a Dangerous Weapon, and Hiding a Corpse.
The investigation is continuing.
