Dubuque democratic state representative Lindsey James is running for congress. James made the official announcement on Tuesday to run for the 2nd congressional seat currently held by Republican incumbent Ashley Hinson.
James who has served in the Iowa House since 2019 says she will be campaigning for every day Iowa families.
James is the third democrat to join the race for Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District. She joins Kathryn Dolter and Clint Twedt-Ball.
Hinson’s staff released a statement after James made her announcement calling James Iowa’s AOC and said among other things, James voted against tax cuts for Iowa’s working families.
