Bellevue Murder Victim’s Family Appeals Dismissal Of Lawsuit Against City Police

GAVEL COURT

The family of a Bellevue murder victim is seeking an appeal of the dismissal of a lawsuit filed against the Bellevue Police Department. The lawyer for the family of Angela Pritchard claims in the appeal she would be alive today if police had not quote “deliberately refused to enforce the law” and arrested her estranged husband Christopher Pritchard.

Last year the family sued the Bellevue city police claiming Christopher Pritchard continually defied court orders of a no contact order in the summer and fall of 2022. In October 2022, Angela Pritchard was found dead of a gunshot wound. Christopher Pritchard was later convicted for first degree murder.

The ruling was submitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
