A one block area of Main Street in downtown Dubuque will be closed through next year. The closure is due to construction of the University of Dubuque’s John and Alice Butler Osteopathic Medicine campus taking place in the former Prudential building at 500 Main Street.
Beginning this Monday the street will be closed from the West 5th Street intersection to the edge of the property.
City officials say the sidewalk on the west side of Main will remain open.
