City officials say a long term closure on a portion of Kerper Boulevard will begin this Wednesday and continue until July 2027.
The closure between East 12th and 16th streets is due to construction of the Dubuque Gate and Pump Station Flood Mitigation Project.
Traffic will be detoured around the closure via U.S. Highways 61/151 through the closure. Motorist wanting to avoid using the detour on the highway can use Elm Street and East 16th Street to travel around it.
