A former para-educator at Dubuque Hempstead High School who pled guilty to having a sexual relationship with a student has been sentenced to jail time.
Yesterday in Dubuque County District Court 40-year old Elizabeth Dunlap received a five year jail sentence on the charge of sexual exploitation by a school employee. She must also be placed on the sex offenders registry when she gets out of prison. Two other charges were dismissed
Dunlap was arrested in January after a Dubuque Police investigation which started in November of last year after some students reported Dunlap was involved in a sexual relationship with a Hempstead student.
