Last night the Dubuque City Council approved a comprehensive study to assess the location of the city’s six fire stations as well as the condition of each building.

The study will evaluate the condition of the buildings and opportunities to improve response times.

Dubuque Fire Chief Amy Scheller told our coverage partner KCRG, prioritizing the health and wellbeing of the staff will be an important part of this process.

Scheller says this could include renovating, tearing down, or relocating fire stations.
