Dubuque Fire on Jackson Street

Dubuque Firefighters battled an apartment building fire on the north end of town.

Shortly before 7 yesterday morning, fire crews were called to 22-33 Jackson Street on the report of flames and smoke coming from a second floor apartment.  All residents evacuated safely from the building and there were no injuries reports.

The fire was determined to be accidental and the Fire Marshall’s office is investigating the cause.

The Red Cross was contacted to assist 8 residents who were not able to return to their homes. Losses are estimated at $100-thousand dollars.
