Chief Jeremy Jensen has announced he plans to retire in August, stepping down after four years as chief and 32 years with the Dubuque Police Department.

Jensen was appointed as chief in 2022 following the retirement of former Police Chief Mark Dalsing. Before he was appointed chief, he served as interim police chief. He was previously an assistant chief starting in 2018.

Jensen will be 55 this summer, making him eligible to retire with a full pension in August.
