The collision of a semi-truck and another vehicle at a busy Dubuque intersection resulted in two people being sent to the hospital and the road closed to traffic for around 90 minutes.
The Dubuque Fire Department says the accident happened at 5 o’clock this morning at the intersection of Highway 20 Dodge Street and the Northwest Arterial. The crash caused damage to the driver’s side saddle tank of the semi and diesel fuel was spilled on the entire intersection. Hazmat crews closed down the intersection to clean up the mess which backed up traffic.
Officials say the semi driver and a passenger in the other vehicle suffered injuries and were taken to the hospital.
