The radio family here at Radio Dubuque is very sad to announce that our dear friend, Liz Picker has passed away.  Liz had been battling cancer for over a decade.  Through many, many ups and downs, she kept at it.  Never afraid to talk about her fight, and forever optimistic.

Liz had been a sales executive for Radio Dubuque since what seems like forever.  Hard to imagine a time here without her.  Her list of clients is probably the size of a short novel!   She dressed wild, talked fast, and carried an energy around with her that we’ll never be able to replace.   Her Radio Dubuque family will never forget her.

“Her brass, sass, big as life persona. When Liz was in the room, you knew it. I love you my friend of 35 years! Boy does The Big G have his hands full!” – Michael Kaye

“I’m going to miss her.  She was so great to the girls and I…she really grabbed hard on to our hearts so quickly and I learned something from her daily.  She was full of stories and lessons and her humor was my FAVORITE kind of humor – dry as a bone. She really was extra special.” – Jenny Swartz

“She loved  to feed the birds, raccoons and any other wild animal at her home. Once in a while, she would clean out the Radio Dubuque freezer and take home things to feed the wild animals.
One morning I went to grab my gluten-free bread in the freezer and it was gone. I found it hard to believe that any of my coworkers would eat my gluten-free bread.
Sure enough, it was Liz. The boss wasn’t happy, Liz was laughing and I was hungry.” – Lisa Bennett

“Liz was a friend who made you feel like family.  She genuinely cared about you and always had your back.  She was such a strong woman and inspiring to a younger generation for old school morals.  She will definitely be missed.” – Rob Anglin

I looked up our last email to each other.  From a few weeks ago.  Told her that a new client of her’s, The Dispensary, was getting a lot of clicks on our website.  Her response, “Thanks Johnny,  l will pass it along. No surprise we’re  talking weed”   Will miss her, big time. – Johnny Rhodes

“We will miss Liz dearly and I will remember the many ways she impacted the lives of those she knew.  Liz was a giver, I know she had a relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and this often showed in the many ways she cared for others.” – Tim Lary

Liz always had something to say, but most of the time she was talking about her Grandkids.  Those 2 boys meant everything to her.  Just take a look at these pics from her office!

Liz had only a few pics of herself around her office.  We love this one.  The back says, “Cary Grant at the Boston Store in Milwaukee, 1970”.  This was taken way before any of knew her!
