Tri-State Area Facing Enhanced Threat of Severe Weather Today

The tristate area is in middle of a bullseye where forecasters believe severe weather has a good chance of developing later today into tonight.

The National Weather Services has placed the region inside an enhanced risk or level 3 of 5 chance of seeing all forms of severe weather including the potential for large hail and a few strong tornadoes.

Forecasters say scattered storms may develop during the mid to late afternoon and last into the evening with the favored location north of Highway 30.  They note higher coverage of storms is possible during the overnight hours so make sure you have multiple ways to receive severe weather warnings and information today and overnight.

The possibility of bad weather will continue tomorrow and again on Friday with additional rounds of strong to severe storms are possible.

Yesterday severe storms produced several tornadoes destructive hail and damaging winds in Northwest Iowa southern Minnesota and parts of Wisconsin.
