Following a few years off, the Bike Safety Rodeo sponsored by UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital is back.
The event, which had a 20-plus year history in Dubuque prior to the pandemic, is returning on Saturday, May 11th from 9 to noon at the Dubuque Fire Safety Training Facility on Public Safety Way.
The event is for children from 5 to 9 year old and is held in partnership with other organizations including the Dubuque Fire and Police Departments along with Dubuque Community Schools.
There will be a bicycle safety course, bike safety checks, and helmet fittings along with a tour of the hospitals Lifeguard medical helicopter. 50 lucky children will also get a bike helmet and there will be a bike raffle.
