The Dubuque Saint Vincent de Paul organization will be breaking ground on an Urban Farm project on Monday.
The Urban Farm Project located on Radford Road is in partnership with the John Deere Foundation. The project which has been in the planning stages for years will allow Saint Vincent de Paul to provide fresh produce year-round to it Voucher Center Food Pantry on Iowa Street.
The Urban Farm will include a 13-hundred square foot area sourced greenhouse from Farmtek/Growspan in Dyersville and will allow a variety of fruits and vegetables to be raised including things such as bananas.
The official ground breaking ceremony which will include a brief presentation will be held at 4:15 on Monday and is open to the public.
