The best advice this morning : if at all possible don’t be on the roads.
A Blizzard Warning remains in effect until early this afternoon and the road conditions report from the Iowa Department of Transportation shows Travel is Not Advised on any of the highways in the region. I-80 is closed from Altoona to Coralville and from West Des Moines to the Nebraska border. Interstate 35 from Ames to the Minnesota border.
The National Weather Service says additional snow accumulations between 1 and 3 inches are forecast today and winds gusting as high as 60 mph.
