The Dubuque City Council will hold their final budget hearing tonight to adopt the Fiscal Year 2027 budget.
This hearing is the final step in a process that started in March establishing the city’s operating and capital budgets for the upcoming fiscal year. This will be the public’s final opportunity to provide input on the recommended budget. The public hearing begins at 6:30 at the Historic Federal Building
According to the city, the budget does NOT include an increase to the residential property tax rate. Initially, an increase of 1% was recommended and approved by the council as the maximum rate. Through the budget-setting process, City staff identified revenue and savings opportunities which will allow the levy to remain unchanged from the current rate.
