A death investigation is underway in the southwest Wisconsin village of Monfort.
The Grant County Sheriff says early yesterday morning they received a 9-1-1 call from a residence on West Main Street reporting a person with a gunshot wound. When deputies arrived the person was found dead. The name of the victim isn’t being released at this time or other details about the investigation. The Sheriff’s Department is being assisted by the Wisconsin State Crime Lab.
Authorities say there is no immediate danger to the public.
