The Illinois Department of Transportation says construction is scheduled to begin this Monday on the bridge carrying US 20/Illinois 84 across the Galena River in Galena.
The D.O.T. says one lane will remain open and controlled with temporary traffic signal. The project is expected to be finished by the end of June. Work will be temporarily stopped during the Memorial Day holiday weekend and the bridge will be fully opened.
