This week, the Dubuque City Council received another update on the coming demolition of the Dubuque Brewing & Malting Building on Jackson Street. This week on KDTH’s Voices of the Tri-States, Dubuque Mayor Brad Cavanaugh talked about the current timeline.
Cavanaugh says starting this Monday workers will be using a big crane to complete the asbestos abatement process before the rest of the building will start coming down.
Cavanaugh stressed the building owner Steve Emerson of Cedar Rapids is subject to municipal infractions if work doesn’t progress. It’s hoped sometime next month streets will reopen that have been closed since mid-August last year.
