The National Weather Service has reduced the threat level for severe weather in the tristate area today, but they say you still need to stay alert for potentially stormy weather.
The region now has a Slight Risk or level 2 of 5 chances for severe weather with the greater Enhanced Threat south of a Fairfield to Galesburg line.
Forecasters still say strong to severe storms are still possible especially this afternoon and evening with damaging winds, large hail, and tornadoes possible.
