The Telegraph Herald reports the Dubuque County Supervisors have voted to sell the county fairgrounds to the local fair association which ends months of back-and-forth over the property’s ownership.
At their meeting Monday, Supervisors voted 2 to 1 in favor of a purchase agreement to sell the fairgrounds to the fair association for 1 dollar.
The Fair Association had been asking county leaders for a long term solution to solve the lack of a lease the last six years.
The Fair Association says owning the property should make it easier to make needed building updates on the fairgrounds.
