The proposed expansion of Roosevelt Middle School has taken another step forward after action by the Dubuque Community School Board last night.
Following a public hearing, the board unanimously approved a resolution supporting the issuance of $30-million dollars in bonds to put toward the project.
The board also approved an election date of September 8th to ask school district voters to approve a 10-year renewal of the voter-approved portion of the Physical Plant and Equipment Levy at a higher rate. The increase would be 67 cents more per 1000 dollars than the current rate. The election requires a simple majority for approval.
