The hot topic of data centers will be addressed tonight (Tuesday night) during the Dubuque County Zoning Commission meeting with the potential it could become an issue they face in the near future.

Raber says if such a proposal would come up, a standalone meeting for the public to attend would be set.
He adds for any potential data center to locate in Dubuque County, many more steps would need to be taken including going before the Board of Supervisors.
Zoning Administrator Ben Kober says some property owners in the county have been approached about perhaps selling land for a potential data center site, but no formal rezoning applications have been submitted to date for such a plan to begin going forward.
