Indianapolis man sentenced to 10 years

An Indianapolis man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to robbery in connection with the shooting death of 31 year old Lonnie Burns of Dubuque in February of 2023.

The murder charge against 27-year old Kenneth Reed was dropped after Reed took a plea deal, pleading guilty to the lesser charge of second-degree robbery. Kenneth Reed

28-year old Terry Valarie of Dubuque is still scheduled for a plea hearing in the case this Friday.

Earlier this year, 25-year old Aaron Johnson of Chicago was sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty by a Dubuque County jury. 30-year old Jermaine Bolds of Dubuque received 50 years in prison after pleading guilty to a reduced charge of 2nd degree murder, and 17-year old Tiarha Godwin of Maquoketa received 2 years of probation after pleading guilty a charge of accessory after the fact.
