Severe Weather Rolls Though Tri-State

NEWS STORM

It appears damage from severe thunderstorms rolling through the Tri-State area yesterday afternoon and evening were limited to reports of trees down in several locations.   There was at least one tornado warning issued for a portion of Dubuque County, however no reports of funnel clouds sighted have been received.  Much of the area received an inch or more of rainfall from some torrential downpours.

In Southeast Iowa, there was at least one confirmed tornado touching down which did damage near Mediapolis.

One of Tornado Warnings issued for the Quad Cities was near the National Weather Service forecasting office and forced meteorologist working there to take shelter.  Staff at the Weather Service’s Des Moines office had to cover for them until the warning was over.
