Last night before a pack council chamber, the Dubuque City Council unanimously passed a revised budget for next fiscal year which includes hikes in utility rates but keeps the property tax rate the same as the current fiscal year.
The council’s decision to keep the levy rate at $10.06 will mean about an $18 increase for the average homeowner due to increased property tax values
Utility rates will go up 3 percent for water, and 9 percent for both sanitary and storm water. Trash collection rates will see an 8 percent hike.
