The frequency of and damages caused by severe storms and other natural hazards in Jo Daviess County will be the topic of discussion at a forum later this month.
The Jo Daviess County Hazard Mitigation Planning Committee will meet on Tuesday afternoon, May 19th at 1 o’clock at the Community Building in Elizabeth and invite anyone to come and be part of the discussion. The committee is update the Jo Daviess County All Hazards Mitigation Plan and will host several public meetings in the coming months.
The committee’s efforts focus on natural hazards, such as severe thunderstorms with damaging winds or hail, tornadoes, snow and ice storms, floods, drought, extreme cold and excessive heat.
