Boys Tennis
- 1A Substate: Wahlert advanced to the state tournament 5-1 over Waterloo Columbus
- 2A Substate: Senior lost to Pleasant Valley 5-1.
Girls Golf
Wahlert, Senior, and Western Dubuque have advanced their teams to the state meet play May 28th and 29th.
Wahlert won the Class 3A Region 5 meet at Pin Oak in Manchester with a 318 clearing second place by 32 strokes. The 3A tournament will be in Cedar Falls
Senior advanced with a runner up finish at the 4A regional near Eldridge. The Rams shot 335, 34 strokes back of winner Pleasant Valley
Western Dubuque won the team championship at the Class 4A regional at Gardner Golf Course in Marion shooting 325.
The 4A state tournament will be played at Waverly.
Individuals also advancing in Class 1A: Brooklyn Tott of Bellevue and Maggie Domeyer of Dyersville Beckman Catholic.
COLLEGE
Women’s Golf
PALM DESERT, Calif. – The University of Dubuque women’s golf team made the 36-hole cut on Wednesday at the NCAA Division III Women’s Golf Championships for the first time in program history. The Spartans went out on Wednesday and fired off a round of 295 (+7) to move up four spots into 12th with Leah Balsbaugh continuing to lead the way tied for 18th (+2) on the individual leaderboard.
Baseball
Iowa Hawkeyes lost to Michigan State 4-3 at the Big 10 Tournament in Omaha. The Hawkeyes will face Purdue today to try and avoid elimination. Purdue ended Illinois season with a victory over the Illini 3-1.
